NEXTSTEP(R)のルック&フィールを似せたウィンドウマネージャ
The AfterStep window manager combines convenient, useful features
with the attractive look of the NEXTSTEP(R) interface. NEXTSTEP(R)-style
features include the the title bar, title buttons, borders, icons and
menus. The most prominent addition to the interface is AfterStep's
Wharf, a customized version of the GoodStuff panel (an fvwm window
manager bar of application icons). AfterStep's Wharf is afree-floating
application loader which can swallow running programs and contain
folders of more applications. AfterStep also includes easy to use
'look' files, so you can share your desktop appearance.
You need to install AfterStep if you want to use the AfterStep window
manager. You should also install AfterStep and try it out if you haven't
decided which X Window System window manager you want to use, or just to
keep your window management options open.

The AfterStep-APPS package includes a group of applications for use
with the AfterStep window manager. Applications in this package
include an Advanced Power Management system monitor for laptops (asapm),
a CPU load monitor (ascpu), a simple state machine (asexec), a

filesystem (asload), a mail checker (asmail), a memory utilization
monitor (asmem), a volume controller knob for the /dev/mixer device
(asmix), a volume controller for various sound inputs (asmixer), a
modem status monitor (asmodem), an analog clock (astime), and a color
VT102 emulator (aterm).
Install AfterStep-APPS if you're planning to use the AfterStep window
manager.

The autorun utility recognizes all of the CD-ROM drives on your
system, mounts the drive when a CD-ROM is inserted and executes an
autorun executable (if one exists) on the CD. If you want to give
users (instead of just root) the autorun ability, you'll need to add
user,exec options to the CD-ROM line in /etc/fstab.

cdrecord - オーディオやデータを CD に記録するツール

Daemon that provides on demand IP links via SLIP or PPP.
Diald is a daemon that provides on demand IP links via SLIP or PPP. The
purpose of diald is to make it transparently appear that you have a
permanent connection to a remote site. Diald sets up a "proxy" device which
stands in for the physical connection to a remote site. It then monitors the
proxy, waiting for packets to arrive. When interesting packets arrive it
will attempt to establish the physical link to the remote site using either
SLIP or PPP, and if it succeeds it will forward traffic from the proxy to
the physical link. As well, diald will monitor traffic once the physical
link is up, and when it has determined that the link is idle, the remote
connection is terminated. The criteria for bringing the link up and taking
it down are configurable at run time, and are based upon the type of traffic
passing over the link.
A DOS emulator.
Dosemu is a DOS emulator. Once you've installed dosemu, start the DOS
emulator by typing in the dos command.
You need to install dosemu if you use DOS programs and you want to be
able to run them on your Red Hat Linux system. You may also need to
install the dosemu-freedos package.
A FreeDOS hdimage for dosemu, a DOS emulator, to use.
Generally, the dosemu DOS emulator requires either that your system
have some version of DOS available or that your system's partitions
were formatted and installed with DOS. If your system does not meet
either of the previous requirements, you can instead use the dosemu-
freedos package, which contains an hdimage file which will be
installed in the /var/lib/dosemu directory. The hdimage file is
already bootable with FreeDOS.
You will need to edit your /etc/dosemu.conf file to add the
image to the list of disk 'drives' used by dosemu.
Install dosemu-freedos if you are installing the dosemu package, but
you don't have a version of DOS available on your system, and your
system's partitions were not formatted and installed with DOS.

collection of routines for numerical analysis, written in C. The GSL is
in alpha development. It now includes a random number suite, an FFT
package, simulated annealing and root finding. In the future, it will
include numerical and Monte Carlo integration and special functions.
Linking against the GSL allows programs to access functions which can
handle many of the problems encountered in scientific computing.

The mt-st package contains the mt and st tape drive management
programs. Mt (for magnetic tape drives) and st (for SCSI tape devices)
can control rewinding, ejecting, skipping files and blocks and more.

tknamazuなどから Vine のオリジナルドキュメントや、JF、jman-pages の全文
検索をできるようになります。apacheなどでhttpdを立ち上げれば、
http://localhost/search.htmlから検索をすることもできます。

dserver は NDTPD に置き換えることが可能です。
NDTPD は UNIX 系 OS のシステム上で動作させることができます。EB, EBG,

これらの形式の CD-ROM 書籍は、日本で一般的に使われています。CD-ROM 書自体は ISO 9660 形式になっていますので、他の ISO 9660 形式と同じ要領マウントすることができます。

Libraries to use the Unidata network Common Data Form (netCDF)
NetCDF (network Common Data Form) is an interface for array-oriented data
access and a freely-distributed collection of software libraries for C,
Fortran, C++, and perl that provides an implementation of the interface.
The netCDF library also defines a machine-independent format for representing
scientific data. Together, the interface, library, and format support the
creation, access, and sharing of scientific data. The netCDF software was
developed at the Unidata Program Center in Boulder, Colorado.
NetCDF data is:
o Self-Describing. A netCDF file includes information about the data it
contains.
o Network-transparent. A netCDF file is represented in a form that can be
accessed by computers with different ways of storing integers, characters,
and floating-point numbers.
o Direct-access. A small subset of a large dataset may be accessed
efficiently, without first reading through all the preceding data.
o Appendable. Data can be appended to a netCDF dataset along one dimension
without copying the dataset or redefining its structure. The structure of
a netCDF dataset can be changed, though this sometimes causes the dataset
to be copied.
o Sharable. One writer and multiple readers may simultaneously access the

POV-ray is currently developed and supported by members of CompuServe

describing what you want to depict, either by using an interactive
modeling system like a CAD package, or by creating a text file which
uses a programming language-like syntax to describe the elements of
the image. In both cases, you have to specify the objects, their
shape, their location, their color, their texture and their
illumination. Then you input the information to the raytracer program
and wait (and wait and wait...raytracing isn't speedy) for its
output (the image).

This package is a an upgrade for the wavplay and wavrec programs.
The last submitted version was 1.3. This version enhances the 1.3
version with a number of improvements provided by Jonathan Woithe
jwoithe@physics.adelaide.edu.au. One of the new features added by
Jonathan include the ability to start playing a sample at a
particular point in time. A few compile problems were also
corrected, including the annoying absence of the union semun of
the present GNU software (due to POSIX directions however.)
The included optional xltwavplay program operates in
client/server fashion with wavplay so that the GUI interface does
not hang, and leaves the user in full point and click control.
You can point and click play/record WAV files with simple
conveniance. You can PAUSE the playing, or override the sampling
rates to generate raised or lowered voices to amuse your dog.
Supports 8 or 16 bit samples, Mono or Stereo. The traditional
wavplay support for locking semaphores is included in xltwavplay
to avoid clashing with wavplay being run from a separate cron job
or other process.
NOTE: You do not have to have X if you just want the wavplay/wavrec
shell mode programs.

This is a collection of 79 freely available fonts. All of them were found in
the CICA archives for Windows.
Some of them are missing special characters, some only contain capitals,

The collection was motivated by the lack of good fonts for Linux especially X11
and ghostscript. Scaled bitmaps look really ugly!

Web ベースのシステム管理ツール。Webmin を用いると、DNS, Samba, NFS, ローカル

インストール後、ブラウザから http(s)://localhost:10000/ にアクセスし、root の
パスワードを入力して root として入ってください。安全のため、パスワードは定期
的に変更するようにしましょう。
インターネットに接続された環境で使用する場合には、perl-Net_SSLeay パッケージを
インストールして SSL にて暗号化を行うことを強く推奨します。SSL を用いた場合、
プロトコルが http:// から https:// に変わります。
この rpm パッケージの場合、セキュリティ強化の為に、デフォルトでは localhost
(127.0.0.1) からのみ接続できるように制限してあります。また、perl-Net_SSLeay

rzsz package. Lrzsz was created to provide a working GNU copylefted
Zmodem solution for Linux systems.
You should install lrzsz if you're also installing a Zmodem communications
program that uses lrzsz. If you're installing minicom, you need to install

(POV-ray) is based on David Buck's original ray tracer, DKB-Trace.
POV-ray is currently developed and supported by members of CompuServe
Graphics Developers' Forum. The first stage of the process is
describing what you want to depict, either by using an interactive
modeling system like a CAD package, or by creating a text file which
uses a programming language-like syntax to describe the elements of
the image. In both cases, you have to specify the objects, their
shape, their location, their color, their texture and their
illumination. Then you input the information to the raytracer program
and wait (and wait and wait...raytracing isn't speedy) for its
output (the image).
