Vine Linux 3.0 (Valandraud) - Release Notes -------------------------------------------- This is Vine Linux version 3.0. Since this is not the commercial version (Vine Linux CR), non-free applications and fonts are not included in the CD. Instead of proprietary Wnn7/VJE japanese inputs and Ricoh fonts, this ftp version contains Canna and free TrueType fonts. Since this is not a commercial release, any official supports are not available for Vine Linux 3.0. And please note the commercial version of 3.0 (3.0CR) will NOT be released - if you need commercial version, please be patient until Vine Linux 3.1CR is out. The software products and documentations are provided "as is" and no warranty - you must take your own risks against any troubles and problems of all softwares in the Vine Linux. Developers, sellers and their relatives will not be liable for any damages arizing out of the use or inability to use the software products. Note on upgrading from Vine Linux 2.6 ------------------------------------- Since a number of software components have been added/deleted since Vine Linux 2.6 to Vine Linux 3.0, a few additional operations are needed to complete upgrading your Vine Linux 2.6. After upgrading process with the Vine Linux 3.0 CD is complete, reboot your machine and make sure your computer is internet-reachable. Then issue the following commands: # apt-get update # apt-get -f install # apt-get dist-upgrade Note on redistribution of Vine Linux 3.0 ---------------------------------------- Redistribution of Vine Linux 3.0 is granted, as far as it is provided for free, and all components are redistributed as it is released (CD images or whole directory), including all source files under the SRPMS directory.
